Enjoy the Happiness from the Bilingual Environment——北外新华双语环境带来的幸福

Living up to the tenderness of summer, the campus is quiet. There are no bustling crowds only filled with the beauty of the XHIA schoolyard in blue, green and orange. Standing under the national flag on the playground, closing my eyes, the memories of a semester appear in my mind like a movie. 

不辜负夏天的温柔，暑期的校园是安静的，没有熙攘的人群，只有蓝色、绿色和橙色填充着北外校园的美好。站在操场上国旗下，闭上眼睛，一幅幅美景像放电影似的在脑海中浮现。

The crisp and clear singing echoes on campus every morning, a solemn and unique flag-raising ceremony highlights the class style, and the neat and orderly recess exercises day after day reflect the well-trained and healthy students from XHIA... However, what impressed me the most is the row of Chinese-English slogans in front of me: Come here, go further.

每日清晨清脆嘹亮的歌声在校园回荡，一场场庄严肃穆而又别出心裁的升旗仪式彰显班级风采、日复一日整齐有序的课间操体现北外学子训练有素且身强体健……然而我印象最深的还是面前的一排中英文化标语：来这里，走更远—— Come here, go further.

今天，我们就看一下北外校园里的中英文化建设。也许这是大家会忽视的地方，但其中的细节和用心让我这位英语老师非常感动和幸福。“十个一工程板”上面的”Top Handwriting, Top Literacy, Top Eloquence... ”(一手好汉字，一篇好文章，一类好口才......)；图书馆门口的”Reading leads you to touch the world.”；书橱上的英文小说The Girl at the Window；文化标语“Learning is the first thing to establish one’s life.”等，就连消防栓上也有双语标语。

Every wall is speaking, and every wall is showing Chinese and English culture. Chinese is the direction, which conveys the ideas of Chinese culture and education; English is an aid, and the higher you read, the more necessary it is to get in touch with the world. Chinese is subtle and deep; English is romantic, open and free. Both Chinese and English convey the culture and energy behind their respective languages, and the two complement each other in our school.

每面墙都在说话，每面墙都在诉说着中英文的文化。中文是方向，它传递着国学及教育思想；英文是辅助，越往上读，它越是接触世界必要的条件。中文含蓄，底蕴深厚；英文浪漫，开放自由。中英文都传递着她们各自语言背后的文化和能量，而二者在我们学校就是相得益彰，交相辉映。

Already accustomed to the cooperation between Chinese and English, they appear on the corridor cultural wall, on the class cultural wall, on the blackboard newspaper, appear on the student's artworks, on the class sign... What is formed in a bilingual environment is bilingual thinking, bilingual soul, and bilingual wisdom. I hope that the seeds of bilingualism that we have planted with our hearts in this fertile land of XHIA will eventually blossom into colorful flowers of thinking that connect the world and the future.

已经习惯了中英文配合，它们出现在走廊文化墙上、出现在班级文化墙上、出现在黑板报上、出现在学生的画报上、出现在班级标牌上……双语环境下形成的是双语思维，双语灵魂，双语智慧。希望我们在北外这片沃土上，用心种下的一颗颗双语的种子，终会开出绚丽多彩的连接世界与未来的思维之花。
